Welcome to the VideoSift Wiki
This is your source for all knowledge related to VideoSift. It is still a very new resource, but growing more plentiful every day with the help of the VideoSift community. VideoSift is a complex animal, so the information found in this Wiki should be considered invaluable. In order to contribute to this Wiki, you must be logged into your VideoSift member account (and not be a probationary member). Before contributing, please take a moment to review the Main Page discussion for guidelines and the areas that need assistance.
About VideoSift
VideoSift was founded February 17, 2006 [1] in the infancy of the online video revolution. Our members scour the Internet to aggregate all of the highest quality video content available. New videos are submitted into the Unsifted area of the site where they await review by other members, and those that receive enough votes are published or "sifted" up to a permanent, prominent position in the front page listing.
Philosophy
VideoSift is a meritocracy wherein members who prove themselves earn special privileges around the site. A member's Star Level indicates the degree to which that person has contributed to the community. The star powers bestowed upon members essentially turn them into moderators over many aspects of site content and other members.
